The time has come for us to renew our club membership. 

Memberships expire on December 31st, 2024. Dues are expected before 01/01/2025 to ensure membership for 2025. Forms are due even if there are no changes in information.  They are required to ensure we have the correct information for you.

Membership in the Great Salt Lake Dog Training Club entitles me/us to a voice in club politics, a vote in all club elections, and a subscription to the Heel and Sit News.

Current Classes We Offer On Wednesday Nights In July Are:

  • Puppy Obedience/Good Manners class –  Class starts at 7:00 PM. Dogs ages 10 weeks to 5 months. Class size limited to 12. 
  • Beginning Obedience/Good Manners class – Class starts at 7:00 PM. Dogs ages 5 months and up. Class size limited to 12.
  • Intermediate Obedience class/CGC Prep – Class starts at 7:00 PM. the next step after Puppy or Beginning class. Class size limited to 12.

Classes We Offer On Wednesday Nights Are:

Non Competitive Classes

Competitive Classes

  • Trick class-Dogs ages 5 months and up. Class size limited to 12.
  • Advanced Obedience/Beginning Open class-dogs should have a CGC and CD or working towards their CD. Class Size limited to 12.

Competitive Classes require dogs to have their CGC or equivalent testing, because of the advanced training and some dogs maybe off lead. Conformation and Trick Class is the exception to the rule.

How To Sign Up:

  • Next sign up is September 4, 2024 PM at 7:00 PM We do not offer online sign up.
  • Sign up in person for classes are on the first Wednesday of each month. Starting in January and going thru to October.
  • Sign up and classes are held at the West Jordan Utah National Guard Armory, 7602 So. Airport Road, West Jordan, UT  (click for directions). Entry for sign up and all classes will be on the South side of the building (west side of the road).
  • All classes are 8 week courses.
  • Please bring your vaccination record on your dog that is being signed up.
  • Sign up will include a short orientation and demonstration regarding our club and classes.
  • We ask that dogs are left at home for sign up night.
  • Class Fees-Prices listed are per dog
  • Club members will need to have a current Semi-Annual Self-Certification form turned in, to determine the cost of the class.

  • Beginning Scent Work-Prepare to earn Scent Work titles and be amazed at what a dogs nose can do!
  • Advanced Scent Work-Continue working on Scent Work with your dog.
  • Temperament Class
  • Conformation HandlingPLEASE NOTE: This is a drop-in class, and no sign-up is required. BUT dogs must be currently competing in Conformation to join this class. This is NOT a class for new handlers. Conformation classes are held every Tuesday during the months of April and August.

All dogs are invited to train with and join the Great Salt Lake Dog Training Club.

This club is a not for profit organization dedicated to helping the general public train their dogs to be good citizens. We focus on promoting responsible dog ownership and participation in activities with dogs.
